U.K Retail Sales ex Auto Fuel Increase by 0.3% in June, Less than Anticipated - 19.7.2012

U.K Retail Sales excluding auto fuel in June increased less than expected by 0.3 per cent, while in May increased by a revised 1.0 per cent, at the same time U.K Retail Sales from June 11 to June 12 rose less than expected by 2.2 per cent compared to a 2.7 per cent increase in May, according to the U.K Office of National Statistics.
U.K Retail sales with auto fuel on monthly basis increased by 0.1 per cent in June compared to an increase of a revised 1.5 per cent in May. Furthermore, from June 2011 to June 2012 Retail Sales with auto fuel advanced less than expected by 1.6 per cent while in May yearly figure rose by 2.1 per cent. The Sterling was under pressure before the news and fell further after the announcement of worse than expected Retail sales against the greenback, it fell from 1.5693 to 1.5635.
